英倫搖滾雖起始於1950年代，1960開始才真顯現能量，其中的重要樂手（也造就他們參與過的樂團成為搖滾發展中的重要足跡）包括：Eric Clapton、Jeff Back、Steve Windwood、Peter Green等，樂團則有The Yardbirds\Cream\Jeff Back Groups\Blind Faith\Fleewood Mac等。

這些樂團幾乎都有共同走過的途徑，就是大量翻唱美國黑人的藍調經典歌曲，才慢慢走上創作和建立自己風格的道路。
